I have been involved in creating schools that promote the academic achievement of New York City youth for over ten years. I have earned two master degrees both within the field of education. The first is from City College in Secondary Education, and the second is from Fordham University in School Administration and Supervision. My educational career commenced at Benjamin Banneker Academy for Community Development as a History teacher. After recieving Masters from Fordham University, I was selected as the Assistant Principal of Middle School 258. where, I worked to help change the environment and create conditions that were more conducive to academic achievement. In June of 2006, I was selected to become the principal of Middle School 143. During my tenure in this position, I along with the support team of teachers and staff, have been instrumental in helping to increase student assessment scores in both Mathematics and English Language Arts. Additionally, the culture of learning and achievement has been ingrained into our students, all of whom believe that they can prevail.
